Come join us in building a vibrant and diverse Stanford community.

Since 1995 our association has honored its pledge to become more active participants in black student life on campus. We’ve contributed financially to the Black Baccalaureate, the Black student newspaper (The Real News), and the Stanford General Fund. Our group has also held local receptions for our members to welcome previous heavyweights from Stanford, including then University president Gerhard Casper, head football coach Tyrone Willingham, trustee Professor Charles Ogletree and Provost Condoleezza Rice.

Our most successful endeavor has been our commitment to help increase minority admissions and enrollment. We are proud to say that Stanford is a standout in the state that passed Proposition 209. This year the school’s sophomore and junior classes will be 51% minority and in 2004 Black Enterprise ranked Stanford in the top ten universities for Black students.

SBAASC will continue to be a vocal advocate for our community both on and off campus.
